Well this is my last day working out. Sadly my goal wasn't reached even though the training did improve my endurance. I was hoping that my speed would increase although I realize now that if I continue this training process it eventually will. I'm glad that I began this journey because it made we realize how important it is to do small exercises like this that will not only improve endurance but also basic health.

During the past two weeks I've realized that I have a bit more energy than I used to. I feel that I can do more than on average, and it makes me feel better. When I go to sleep at night and my legs are sore I fall asleep with ease and then in the morning I feel rejuvenated. These exercises really affected how I am as a person. I really want to continue doing these exercises every week because I want to prove to everyone on my hockey team that what I’m doing can change how I skate and how fast I skate. This was an incredible journey and it taught me some valuable lessons that I will always remember. It is very important to exercise or do activities that keep you busy.

Hello everyone, today I will inform you on my coach’s opinion on my progression. My coach thinks that I have way more energy than when I told him about this journey but he didn’t really see an improvement in speed. He said that I can skate as fast as I always have but for longer periods of time. Therefore basically I skate with a bit more aggression and I can stay on my full shift when skating at a constant rate.

I did not achieve my goal yet but at least my speed improved, although not in the way I wanted. My goal by next Thursday I will be able to skate faster and at a constant rate. Now when I complete my exercises I will push myself even more than when I began. I will also be going to an off-ice training center again and be continuing my exercises at home. Next Wednesday I will write down my results for this journey and talk to my coach again to see if anything changed. I am open to any comments or suggestions about my training. I hope that I achieve this goal and that it will change the way I play hockey!

Hello again, Anthony here and today I would like to talk about how much more confident and stronger I feel. I’ve been going to an off-ice hockey training center long before I began my journey and I found it hard every week to do an intense workout. Although, now that I’ve been training 4 or 5 times a week, it is easier to do the workout.  At this training center I skate on a treadmill of synthetic ice. On this treadmill I skated at approximately 9 km per hour for seven sets of thirty seconds. Also for each set, the treadmill inclined a bit which made it more difficult.  At the end of all the sets I barely pulled a sweat.

I felt as if the training facility was more fun than it used to be and it makes me feel that my hard work paid off. This encouraged me to continue and I know that if I continue that my results will improve even more. I’ve been skating on the real ice lately and realize that it feels like I’m floating because I have a bit more energy. I realize now how different it is to skate, it feels more enjoyable and I skate with a rhythm. My goal for the next couple of days is to not only to have more energy but for my speed to actually increase and by Friday I will experiment to observe the results during my hockey practice with my coach!

Hello fellow bloggers today I will be following up on my progress.  This morning I ran for 20 minutes and every five minutes of running I would walk one minute. This exercise went well even though I was sweating quite a bit already. Honestly I wouldn’t have minded stopping there, but I really wanted my quads to work to their full extent. I then began two sets of planks, and I wanted to do more than the last time but I just couldn’t. It was very hard ,and I wanted to stop but I want to see if I can really improve in two weeks time especially because playoff time is coming soon.

I then did my final leg workouts, I leaned against the wall, and bent down at a ninety degree angle for twenty seconds; my legs were really hurting now. Just before I did another set I wanted to do ten prisoner squats which didn’t hurt as much but were still effective. This is where the real pain came in. I was getting in my stance to do the chair again and I started my timer. My legs were pumping as If it were my heart, after ten seconds I couldn’t withstand the pain I was screaming! My mom had thought I hurt myself she was surprised to see me with sweat soaking up my shirt and breathless.

I know it sound a bit exaggerated but it’s true, I had to make those twenty seconds I did it for myself and would have continued if I had just a bit more energy. Next time I’ll try to do thirty seconds. After a couple of days of training I feel like I’m floating on the ice I’m skating with ease but no speed increase yet, But I’ll keep blogging about my progress.

Hi, this is Anthony and I created this blog to share my journey about improving my speed for hockey. I enjoy playing hockey and I want to do whatever I can to improve. I’m always trying to hustle to try and get the puck out of the corner and make a play and even to have a little extra power to catch up with certain players. It is really important for me to improve aspects like these this is why I created this blog.

For two weeks starting today I will do intense leg and core work outs that will certainly improve my speed. I will also inform you through the interpretation of my coach on how I’m progressing with my journey.

I started today and I have to say it was a work out I will never forget. I was doing fine when starting with my first set of 15 duck walks and prisoner squats but when I began my third and fourth set I felt my muscles starting to work to their full extent. The one thing that I was really causing pain were the planks that I had done, after my first set of 30 seconds I was practically burnt but I got through the 3.

I am basically hoping that I can improve with bursts of speed in hockey and my acceleration. I would appreciate that anyone who has any good advice or something that can help me through with this journey to coment.
